Dr. Christina DeRoche was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario. Her sole aspiration was to become a teacher of primary school but this shifted into teaching at post-secondary levels. She had mentorship from strong and confident women in a variety of leadership roles and quickly moved into her PhD studies in 2009 at McMaster.

During her PhD, Christina found a love for applied research and leadership working with a variety of Departments and people, including families and children, and after completing her studies she began a full time position as a Manager in North Bay supporting rehab professionals in their daily caseload interactions, managing programs community wide, and providing strategic direction to senior leadership on a variety of areas including research, evaluation, quality and policy development.

Currently, Christina works at a local College as a Director of the Research Centre and continues her own leadership education and journey as a Vice-Chair for a local child-welfare organization.
